This object is a small hard paste porcelain saucer with an eagle design and stylized initials HM in the center. The eagle is clutching/resting on a corded rope design. The saucer is decorated with over-glaze enamels. Gilded filigree and floral designs in purple, orange, pink, and green run in a ring on the interior vertical wall at the lowest point. The interior rim is also decorated with a green wavy enameling and gilding. Extending below the interior rim is another ring of festooned floral and gilded designs.

This object is a hard paste porcelain plate with an octagonal rim, over-glaze enamel surface decoration and gilding in the interior. The center of the bowl is decorated with a fuchsia (color) floral design possibly in manganese oxide. At the height of the bowl interior there is a ring of gilded chain. The rim is decorated with festoons of polychrome enamel flowers in fuchsia, blue, purple, yellow, and green. Each festooned segment is joined together near the rim with a small gilded bow. The rim of the bowl also displays a family crest of a rampant deer over a stylized rope design, and the moto “Hab To Share” below it. The outer edge is also gilded.

This object is a small hard paste porcelain dish with over-glaze enamel decoration. A floral and leaf design adorns the center, surrounded by a ring of red hatch-mark and dot enameling. A second ring of this red design rests further up the rim, surrounded by a fuchsia colored (possibly manganese oxide) fish-scale-type pattern around the outermost interior edge.

This object is a white stoneware vase that was most likely press-molded. This vase was one of a pair from the Russell-Cotes Museum. The vase is decorated with Imari inspired designs and over-glaze enamels of yellow, blue and pink. It has molded rose-shaped-handle decorations which are gilt. There is also gilding along the rim, in the decoration of the piece’s panels, and in a floral pattern along the base over a deep blue (possibly cobalt oxide) glaze. The shape and decorative style indicate that the vase could be an early 19th century Mason Ironstone piece .

The Garden Lady by Beverly Magennis (1995), is part of the permanent collection at The Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. The object’s approximate size is 6’ x 3’. The sculpture is a mix of glazed and unglazed earthenwares in red and white clays. The fruit plate and arms were completely detached and badly damaged. The body of object was stable apart from a few missing tiles from the mosaic area at the base.

This object is a hollow hard paste porcelain figure of a woman in a yellow floral gown holding a tambourine with one foot raised. The surface decoration is done in overglaze enamels. She stands on a base decorated to mimic stone and a tree trunk. The underside of the base has a maker’s mark and stamps. The mark is a double-sided arrow. There is also the number 27 stamped into the bottom, suggesting that this is one of a series of figures that was produced. Research was conducted to identify the maker’s mark, however, an exact match was not found. The research suggests (based on similar maker’s marks) that this figure is likely Bohemian in origin, possibly produced during the early to mid 1800’s in Giesshübel.

The object is a large terra cotta (red earthenware) cauldron pot. The glaze over the clay body is a crackled brown-yellow color. This makes the pot appear a deep brown/gold color. It is thickly potted (i.e. the walls are almost an inch thick) and has a large rim and small embossed handles. The glaze around the rim has contracted (most likely in the kiln) and left sections of the rim bare clay or has stained sections a deep almost purple color.

This object is a hollow, slip-cast, bone china figure of a rhinoceros. The exterior surface is likely cold painted (assumed because of its matte appearance) in matte gray, black and brown tones. This figure was produced by the Coalport Porcelain and China Factory (est. 1860) in the Ironbridge Gorge area of England. The makers mark on the bottom of the figure’s foot indicates the factory in which it was produced but gives no indication as to the date of production. Further research indicated that animal figures were commonly produced in the Coalport factory since its establishment, thus an approximate date for this piece was difficult to establish, however, based on its appearance and lack of damage (aside from that caused by the inherent tension in the object) it appears to be a contemporary object.

The object is a press-molded bone china plate covered in a clear glaze. The face of the plate is decorated with enamel and gilding. A turquoise enamel band decorates the rim. This enamel is surrounded by two gilded bands and decorated with gilded dots. The lip of the plate is decorated with gold hoops from which turquoise enamel and gold dots are festooned. The center of the plate is decorated with a purple enamel and gilded crown over a monogram in turquoise and gold. The monogram contains highly stylized letters E and A.  

This object is a glass figure of a man wearing a white top hat, a frilly cravat, and pantaloons. His hat, hair, cravat, sleeves, and pantaloons are in white glass. The remainder of the figure is in clear glass with gilding on the surface. The figure stands on a round swirling base. This figure was produced in Murano in Venice, Italy. This is likely a contemporary example of their traditional Goldoniani style clown figures that have been produced there for many years. This particular example is likely from the mid 20th century (1940-50s).

This object is a slip-cast, hollow, bone-china figure of a nurse in a black cape with red lining. She is wearing a nurse’s cap and uniform, with black shoes. She is standing on a white base with a transfer printed marble effect and gilding along the edges. The base also reads “Dare Quam Accipere” in gilding on the sides. The front of the base displays a black and gold crest, while the back has three small gilded Flor De Lis’. This figure is number 740 of the 750 produced exclusively for the Guys Hospital Nurses League in 1996. It is a representation of a 1960’s Staff Nurse. The figure was modeled by Kenneth Potts and produced in England by Royal Worcester.

This object is a small Ancient Roman green glass Oinochoe Jug. An Oinochoe is a traditional wine vessel of the classical period. Though it is very hard to accurately date this object, it is likely between 2000 and 2500 years old. Research revealed that the shape, color and medium of the vessel indicate that it likely dates to ~150 AD (based on similar objects).

This object is a reverse painted glass depicting a Japanese village on a lake with Mount Fuji in the background. The foreground contains three small photographs of geishas. These photos appear to be yellowed with age. There are also sections of decoration with mother-of-pearl (attached to the reverse). The glass is framed in a black wooden frame. This piece is likely from the 20th century.

This object is an 18th century Chinese hard paste porcelain bowl. It is decorated with pastoral scenes in over-glaze enamel.
